Advocating for the inclusion and visibility of AAPI history in our
nation’s schools

The legislation allows local boards of education to pick instructional materials.

New Jersey has become the second state in the country to adopt a requirement that AAPI history and culture be added to districts' social studies curriculum, for all K-12 students, starting in the 2022‑2023 school year. The bills signed by Gov. Murphy require school districts to incorporate an inclusive range of textbooks and other classroom materials to “portray the cultural and economic diversity of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

Advocating for the development of Korean American Immigrant history in AAPI curriculums

The mandate for including Asian American history in the education system is a significant step forward. As part of the AAPI history, we are advocating for the inclusion of the Korean American experience in the education curriculum across the U.S.

Our annual program of workshops and tours in Korea for school administrators.

Our "Visit Korea" program is a series of exchange programs coordinated between students and administrators in America and Korea. It serves as a primary step towards creating a culture of greater trust and understanding among our next generation of global leaders. Our role is to ensure that these relationships are effective, enduring, and mutually beneficial.

Applications are now open for this summer of 2023. We encourage school administrators and district officials who have made contributions in opening and developing Korean language classes within their school or school district to apply. Those in school districts with future plans to open Korean language classes are also welcome to apply.

The purpose of this 10-day program is to cultivate an understanding of Korean history and modern day culture and. to experience firsthand the Korean education system. The itinerary includes visits to Seoul, Gyeongju, and Chonan City.

A) Select a book that is based on the history or culture of Korea. It may be either a fiction or nonfiction book (biography, history, current affairs, etc.). Write a detailed summary and what you learned and/or found surprising about Korea after completing the book. (Make sure to include the title and author of the book you chose!)

B) Create a short presentation introducing your school's Korean language class. You can talk about your teacher, fellow classmates, what projects you have done, events or field trips, clubs, or any memorable or interesting things about your class. It can be in any creative form - video, powerpoint, etc.

For students who have been learning the Korean
language in their schools, this program provides a great opportunity to go beyond the classroom and books, and be immersed in Korea's culture. After having taken Korean as a world language ,they can first-handedly experience their classroom learning.
During the visit, they will be able to gain a better understanding of its
rich history, experience its modern day culture, and
engage with native Korean students. 


Applications are now open for Summer 2023. Students will be required to complete a creative project before and after the program.

Our tours are designed to deepen student's knowledge of the world so that they are better able to enhance cultural understanding in their classrooms and communities. The itinerary includes Seoul, Gyeongju, and Chonan City.
